Fences are priced by linear foot, because that is the honest way to quote them. Vinyl runs $1.50 to $2.25 a foot and wood runs $2.00 to $3.00 a foot. Vinyl cleans up dramatically: the green film comes off and it goes back to white. Wood gets handled more gently, at low pressure, because high pressure raises the grain and leaves a fuzzy, splintered surface that then weathers faster.
